Madame F is 100% Grenache from the bountiful vineyards of Southern France. A world away from tight controls and strict guidelines of the AOCs, these allow winemakers to experiment and make the wines they really want to drink. Grenache makes some of the world’s tastiest and most expensive wines (like Châteauneuf’s £400 Château Reyas) and some of the juiciest, best value – like this. Judges at the prestigious Sommelier Awards picked this as one of their best value ‘house’ wines. Rich, ruby red with earthy aromas and smoky herbs, a good balance of tannin and acids and brimful of plum, blackcurrant and spice, softened with a little vanilla oak. It'll prove the perfect partner to hearty red meat dishes or simply to sip solo of an evening.
