In local folklore, it's said that King Alfonso XI claimed <i> “I have a bull (Toro) who makes wine and a lion who drinks it." </i> This is the story that inspired Felix Solís from the renowned winemaking clan and started his Toro winemaking project. He has spent a decade getting together 100 growers to contribute grapes to make his special King inspired red. And this is his first vintage. With winemaker Maria Melendez, they've used all old-vine Tempranillo (here known as Tinta del Toro), hand-picked and aged in barrel for three months. Silky with rich, dark fruit – a fine food red.
