Wine Summary
John and Josephine Quarisa’s passion extends far beyond the boundaries of the wine industry, to their home, their family, their hobbies, heritage and through the simplest things associated with everyday life. This life long, energetic partnership started at school when John and Josephine became high-school sweethearts. Over the years they have grown and developed and are still laughing and loving every step of the way. As a winemaker for over 30 years, John’s winemaking has been awarded some of Australia’s greatest accolades including both the Jimmy Watson and Stodart Trophies. John’s experience drove him to develop a range of wines that are down to earth, full of character and approachable. Also true of John himself! This Shiraz is intense cherry red with purple hues. Aromas of fresh ripe berries are complemented by rose petal and orange blossom. The same ripe berry flavours are given added complexity on the palate thanks to well-integrated vanillin oak and spice notes. Long, smooth and irresistible.

Wine Summary
If the extraordinary popularity of The Black Stump and Dark Corner is anything to go by, Kiwis love their deep Durif Shiraz blends. And this new release from the Six Word range sits right up there with our other two bestselling blends. Black fruit, sweet spice and liquorice make wonderful bedfellows to a blanket of seamlessly integrated tannins. The lengthy flavours lead to a dreamily long finish where vibrant soft fruit makes itself known. Best enjoyed with the classic, rich braised meat of an oxtail stew with a side of crusty bread.

It’s wine like this, made using fruit from premium sites throughout the region, that makes South Australia a first choice destination for lovers of big, generous and velvety Aussie reds – consider it the state’s great gift to the wine world, not just at home but all over the globe. The Old Red River Gum Cabernet Shiraz flows with distinctive black fruit, eucalypt and spice, smoothed out by delicious dark chocolate and a touch of smoky oak.

Wine Summary
A terrific,Trophy-winning, multi-Gold medal take on France’s classic Syrah Viognier recipe. RedHeads uses premium old vine fruit and traditional methods, finishing the wine with 14 months in barrel. Hence the gorgeous silky black fruit and lavish oaky complexity. Named after the ancient Monkey King who had an insatiable hunger for roasted coconuts (Noix de Coco Rôties), this is a superbly balanced red. It’s from RedHeads, a small, very eco winery with only one vineyard. For the rest they have an impressive list of growers to draw upon, to ensure, every year, they receive just the fruit they’re after. For the 2019, Jeff McMurtrie, John Kalleske, Darren Arney and the Lloyd brothers – all at least 2nd generation growers in South Australia's finest areas – did them proud. Co fermenting Syrah with the Viognier skins (just like the northern Rhône) in open top fermenters, hand plunging and 10 months' oak ageing has produced a red with elegant fruit and velvety tannins. Ideally decant an hour beforehand.

Wine Summary
Small parcels of the best quality fruit from across top regions in South Australia were chosen for this Reserve Durif – and it shows! It’s big, rich and mouthcoating, a ‘black red’ with some serious heft. Take that as a warning! The wine is named after a type of cattle (Hereford/Shorthorn cross) bred for the harsh conditions of Australia’s far north, and has been crafted with steak in mind. Hints of black pepper and dark chocolate coat the palate with layers of rich red fruit and black cherry.
