Delightfully elegant rosé from the hearty Primitivo grape - a taste of pure Puglian magic!
Pillastro is one of our best loved Big Reds. It's from the highly awarded Angelo Maci at Puglia's Cantine Due Palme. We asked Angelo to create us a rosé, using the same characterful Primitivo. Fresh, floral with bright berry fruit - Puglian magic!

Primitivo
Low Stock - 16 bottles left
Primitivo as it’s called grown on Italy’s ‘heel’, Zinfandel is its name in the USA (California). Very alcoholic (sometimes 15%) and deeply-coloured, these smoky wines are strong and very powerful. Puglian Primitivo is "seriously fruity and bold" (BBC Good Food magazine).
They are grown on rich red and sometimes sandy soils over white limestone. The grapes literally bake in the sunshine giving dried cherry fruit, raisiny, licorice and leathery characteristics. Typical as other Italian reds, Zinfandel is balanced by a fresh acidity to match heavy Italian dishes. To taste some of our range, head to Pillastro or Il Papavero.
