Dr John Forrest is one of the greats of Marlborough wine, famous for Riesling, Sauvignon, pioneering screwcaps and a whole lot more. Having decided to swap science labs for winemaking, John Forrest applied the same analytical precision in his vineyards - monitoring soils, climate and the varieties that performed best - and in the cellar - meticulously crafting wines from the many grapes he loves to nurture. He's twice been honoured with 'Winemaker of the Year' and has garnered many awards. Field of Stones is from his most treasured vineyard, with rocky soils very similar to those of the Sancerre and the same flinty edge and gooseberry fruit you get from the French appellation. Perfect with all sorts of seafood or elegant hors d'oeuvres.
